Luiza Duran, BACP Dip. Integrative Counselling; Cert. Art Psychotherapy Foundations
I am a BACP registered counsellor (BACP reg. no. 396970) and I offer short term and long-term counselling and psychotherapy to adults (18+).
Sometimes life can feel challenging, and the events thrown at us can make us feel overwhelmed or unsure how to respond. Research shows that being listened to in a safe, warm and respectful environment can be quite powerful and curative.
I believe that we all have an innate ability to heal, grow, and adapt, even in the face of life’s challenges. With the right support and environment, this natural capacity can emerge and guide us forward.
Below are some of the things that I can support you with (not an exclusive list):
A recent life event (such as separation, loss, or trauma) has left you feeling overwhelmed, confused or in despair.
Your troubled past continues to affect your present, making it difficult to build deep and fulfilling relationships.
You feel displaced, alienated, or homesick after moving away from home, grieving the loss of familiar surroundings, cultural identity, and social support.
You’re feeling empty, struggling with loss of meaning or lack of purpose and direction in life.
Or, simply, you want to understand yourself better.
Whatever you’re experiencing will be unique to you. You don’t have to go through it alone - if you would like to talk, I am here to listen. You can contact me without obligation or ask for a free introductory call if preferred.
My therapeutic style involves an attitude of warm acceptance of who you already are - you are unique, and you have a unique role to play in your life. I use creative methods, such as papers and colours, or objects from inside or outside the room to encourage your own creativity to emerge and guide you forward. We may sometimes invite myths, dreams, fairytales, or Jungian archetypes, to enhance what is being said and help explore what it means to be human.
Through my work in various charitable organisations, private practice, and my own therapeutic journey, I have gained knowledge and experience working with a wide variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, loneliness, low self-worth, attachment issues, identity concerns, long term conditions, and complex intergenerational trauma.
