Our Therapists
Jennifer Clarke, MA
Psychodynamic and CBT Psychotherapist, Adolescents and Adults, Reg MBACP
Meet Jennifer…
I offer psychodynamic and CBT therapy for both adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, grief and loss and low self-esteem. We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you with the aim of developing greater self-awareness, emotional resilience and a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships.
Sometimes people start therapy because it offers the space to support them to navigate something specific going on in their life that is proving emotionally challenging. For others, starting therapy offers a chance to explore their feelings when perhaps they feel lost or that something isn’t quite right or perhaps they have some big decisions to make.
I hold a Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Masters degree with Distinction from Goldsmiths University in London as well as certificates in other counselling modalities such as CBT and Person-Centred therapy.
Psychodynamic counselling is fundamentally concerned with understanding how past relationships and experiences affect behaviours and relationships in the present. This approach can really help people get to the root causes of problems that in many cases, have been unresolved for a long time which then releases them to move onto a more positive trajectory.
I tend to adopt the CBT approach when working with clients on a shorter-tern basis. Collaboratively, we examine how they think and behave and we challenge the link between the two and help develop how alternative outcomes might be achieved.
Please see my website for more details about me and how I work or get in touch via email and perhaps we can arrange an initial call to chat things through and see if I might be a good ‘fit’ for you:
