Hamish Travers
Integrative Adult Psychotherapist, MBACP
Meet Hamish…
I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor that specialises in working with men.
My work with clients prizes the development of the relationship between us as the centre of the work. The relationship is unique to each client. I also integrate psychodynamic, attachment and gestalt approaches creating a bespoke therapeutic experience for each client.
Clients who seek support from me come with a range of issues including relationship difficulties, struggles with their true selves, not knowing how to express themselves emotionally and living with neurodivergence (ADD/ADHD). Often feelings of anxiety, depression and anger are present. The work can lead to client conceived self discovery, coping strategies, and lasting behaviour change. I offer a confidential, safe and supportive space for men to often uncover parts of themselves they haven’t understood or experienced before.
Alongside my private practice, I work at Mind Richmond, and Kingston Bereavement Support as a counsellor. My qualifications include a post graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. My work before becoming a psychotherapist involved starting and running my own business, before transitioning to coach tennis in elite academies in the US. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and embrace their ethical standards and values.
I offer both in person therapy at the Wellbeing Centre in Teddington and online across the UK.
